Description

World War I ended on November 11, 1918 at 11:00 AM with the signing of Armistice in a rail car outside of Paris, France. Twenty One (21) Rockwall County Service Members made the ultimate sacrifice during the Great War. The Veterans Memorial in Rockwall, Texas will be site of a special ceremony to remember the cost and the truly remarkable effort of the American People during this War. The Memorial is next to the Courthouse at 1111 East Yellowjacket Lane. Recognition of this historic day will be on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at 2:00 PM. The event will be presented by the Terry Fisher American Legion Post 117 and Rockwall County Historical Commission. Participants in the program will include elected officials, retired military personnel; Boy Scouts, Texas Highway Patrol, Bagpiper, and Biplane fly over (weather permitting). Plan to attend this historic occasion.
