One morning, entrepreneur and busy mom, Revi Menasche, decided to give baking bagels a try. Little did she know, her hobby of baking these doughy delights would soon become an enormous part of her life. Just months earlier, Revi, her husband Alan, and daughter Leya had just relocated from Fort Lauderdale, FL to Rockwall, TX. In the short time, they were in Texas, Revi had already made so many wonderful Rockwallian friends, but longed for more of a connection to her Jewish heritage.
She went searching on social media and found that there was a good number of proud Jewish folks in Texas, but they weren’t quite a community. “How can I bring people together?” she asked herself. So, she took it upon herself to create a supportive network of Jewish people in the Dallas area, to bring that sense of community that she, and many others, longed for. They’d talk about things that they love and miss, and bagels were always at the top of the list. So, Revi decided to make a few more batches of bagels for those who wanted a taste of home. They were immediately gobbled up by her family, then by friends and neighbors. Word of mouth spread quickly, that there was someone making fresh, traditionally boiled and baked bagels in Texas— and everyone wanted a bite!
Soon, restaurants like Rockwall's favorite, Wells Cattle Co, began placing small orders for bagels, (Wells burgers are amazing, and even more delicious with a bagel bun!) and the reviews rolled in.
