We are seeking an experienced Enrolled Agent and/or CPA to join our team as a Tax Resolution Specialist - Lead. This role involves managing all aspects of client tax resolution matters from initial consultation through final resolution. You will work directly with clients and handle complex IRS cases including examinations, appeals, compliance checks, installment agreements, penalty abatements, currently not collectible status determinations, and offers in compromise.
Our firm provides comprehensive on-site support including administrative assistance, case management, and client care services to ensure your success in this position.
Base Salary: $72,000 annually
Additional Compensation: Performance-based bonus opportunities & two-weeks paid time off
Work Arrangement: Hybrid schedule - Office (Monday-Thursday) / Remote (Friday)
Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and case progress
Provide clear explanations of tax resolution processes and options
Serve as primary point of contact throughout the resolution process
Communicate professionally and promptly with IRS personnel via phone, email, and correspondence
File and manage IRS tax resolution programs including:
Currently Not Collectible (CNC) status applications
Installment agreement negotiations
Innocent spouse relief petitions
Offers in compromise (when appropriate)
Remove or resolve IRS garnishments, levies, and federal tax liens
Prepare, review, and submit required financial documentation to the IRS
Handle compliance calls and correspondence with IRS authorities
Accurately track and document time spent on each case
Manage daily workflow and ensure all deadlines are met
Prioritize and manage caseload of 75-100 active cases
Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff
Provide direction to Engagement Managers to advance case resolutions
Collaborate professionally with management and sales teams
Active Enrolled Agent license and/or CPA certification in good standing with the IRS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience working IRS tax resolution cases
Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume caseloads (75-100 active cases)
Must be able to work in our Rockwall, TX office Monday through Thursday
Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel) and Adobe Acrobat software
Experience with Apple Operating Systems is a plus
Experience with tax software platforms (Canopy, Pitbull, ProConnect preferred)
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Must pass background check prior to employment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational and time management skills
Experience preparing individual and business tax returns (1040s, 1120s, 1065s, 940s, 941s, 1099s)
Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish)
Previous experience with ProConnect tax software
This position requires the ability to:

Work remotely Thursday and Friday with reliable internet connection
Communicate effectively via phone, email, and video conferencing
Use standard office equipment including computer, phone, and printer
