Rest Haven Memorial Park and Lakeshore Civil Air Patrol
Host 2016 National Wreaths Across America Event


Rest Haven Memorial Park will again be joining with the Lakeshore Civil Air Patrol (CAP) to host the annual Wreaths Across America Day at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at Rest Haven in Rockwall.  Wreaths Across America is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to continue and promote the annual event placing wreaths on veterans’ graves at cemeteries across the country.
 
“Many people are surprised to learn that there are over 800 veterans’ graves at our cemetery,” said Dewayne Cain, President of Rest Haven Memorial Park.  “Our goal is to secure enough donations to place a wreath on every single veteran’s grave in the Memorial Park,” Cain continued.  To donate a wreath, or volunteer to help place wreaths, visit www.wreathsacrossamerica.org click to Donate, choose Sponsor A Wreath At My Local Cemetery and search by zip code 75087.  You can also use the link https://wreaths.fastport.com/donateLocation.html?page=17195 for Rest Haven’s event location page.

The mission to Remember, Honor and Teach, is carried out in part each December by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery and hundreds of cemeteries in all 50 states and beyond.
