"Frey is 2 years old and the sweetest boy you'll ever meet. I knew immediately something was seriously wrong when my French fry loving boy, refused to eat for 3-4 days at a time. I decided to take him to the emergency room where I was planning on receiving a pneumonia diagnosis as he had walking pneumonia a few weeks prior that was lingering. On 7/8/24 our worlds were shattered as we received the news that Frey was diagnosed with High-Risk B- Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Upon furthering testing, we were informed that the Leukemia cells had made their way into Frey's Cerebrospinal Fluid as well. Without question, I immediately took an unpaid leave of absence to be by his side in the hospital. We stayed for 7 consecutive days at Children's Health in Dallas. During this stay we were given the treatment plan as well as the specific chemotherapy regimen Frey would be given. At this point, he was no longer walking due to pain from the Leukemia. I was informed that Frey would be getting Lumbar Punctures and chemo directly into his spinal fluid twice a week on top of his normal chemo through his central line. Thankfully after 4 Lumbar punctures, his spinal fluid was clear of all suspicious cells. Frey was discharged and unfortunately readmitted on 7/25 for a fever. He was hospitalized for 15 days while he completed the Induction phase of chemotherapy. On 8/9/24 Frey was declared in remission. While this was wonderful news that brought happy tears, Frey?s battle against ALL is nowhere near over. In hopes to prevent a relapse, his treatment plan will be 3.5 years in total. There is always risk of him being hospitalized at any point during that 3.5 years which also means more unpaid leaves from work. Being a single mother of 2 very young children, this will make things more difficult than they already are. If you feel led to donate, it is greatly appreciated however there is always power in prayer. Nonetheless, we ask for your thoughts and prayers during this gut wrenching time"
